If the password was forced to be a specific length and could not be shorter or longer, it would be the same as that. But they’re not usually forced to be a specific length. They do have bounds, but that also makes it so there are fewer possible combinations to guess.

Length doesn’t matter if it’s randomly trying every possible combination. It could just as easily guess the longest possible password as the shortest.

Other methods of attack would be a good reason to make it long and nonsensical; not a random brute force attack.

Ah! And this is why I don’t really care that much about long passwords or things of that nature. If the attack is brute force, it could still get lucky and guess it in 5 hours just like this UUID thing!

I wish I was a good enough coder to understand what’s going on, too. I bet it’s funny as hell.

The only experience I have like this is when I wanted to see how the ARMA Life mod was doing certain things, but it was programmed by like 20 different people in 3 different languages. Most of it was in German and French.

It was easier to just to find my own way of doing what I wanted to do.

When LUA scripting was first added to the game it had basically no guard rails and it was possible to write up LUA scripts that could download and execute files on your machine from within the game.

I kinda got a bad taste from LUA when I was introduced to it via it being added in GMOD. It quickly led to me quitting the game because through it, you had remote control access possibilities just by running into the wrong player.

Like, I know that’s not common but it took a while to actually learn it after that lol

Could also strap a methane collector to its ass and generate more power while preventing the gas from going into the atmosphere and making the planet hotter.

Would it be possible to have something that looks like a thumbdrive but literally just shorts out the computer or would one of those things need to be bigger? 🤔

I’m not worried about viruses. I have nothing sensitive to steal stored on my machine or anything worth saving so I can always wipe the drive. But I would be wary if simply plugging a thing in could fry my PC.
