I never did an R2. Was looking at it when I heard about the R3 beta and went that route. Most entry build I’ve heard of was trouble free and very reliable. They are fun little progress for sure.

Help & Support•M16 3 round burst trigger sourcing and parts differencesEnglish
1·6 days agoThe disconnector is crunchy when pushing down on the tail. It works, but it isn’t right the spring doesn’t want to stay flat. It’s also a tight fit and some time cleaning the edges would be prudent for sure.
I couldn’t figure out how to load the video.

Help & Support•M16 3 round burst trigger sourcing and parts differencesEnglish
1·6 days agoThis is a SCS cut binary disconnector and a M16 disconnector in a 3 round burst trigger. The AR disconnector springs don’t seat well.

Yep, didn’t have the right bolt with me so I put a second locknut on to cap the exposed threads.
Ah, I didn’t have much time to read and skimmed it and missed it. Doesn’t sound like anything that affects the grip nut… Thanks!
I used those magazines in another project, the printed ones failed before two full mags. The ones with metal feed lips lasted quite a while, even left loaded in climate controlled area. They only met their demise when I forgot they were in the hot car.

There’s a hole close to where the sear goes but it’s not in the exact location.
Wouldn’t be too hard to mod the selector for three position binary, but getting a FRT work will take a lot of time on both the frame and the trigger housing.
The plastikov has features which make it look like a FA sear could be made to work but, it won’t fit as is. FA also requires a factory FA selector to hold the FA disconnector tail down.
Yep the feed lips, the mags are slightly different height and as soon as the shorter one finished the taller one started having issues. Not only did it shift but it also became very glossy at the same layer height.
I had been using default settings in orca, which worked until they didn’t.
The standard AKSS cam rotates on the factory selector which is not used in the plastikov, and other parts of the plastikov frame are in the way. You would need a complete redesign to get an FRT.
You could use a standard AK binary, but you would be stuck with two position. Three position requires a standard FA AK selector.
I’ve been doing it for years, just never used bacon grease 🐖
Here I am saving my pennies for something else and you keep posting about this.

This is the only one I know of for the vmac .45, but fusion and clicks are free 🤠
I’m really not sure of any cross compatibility. I’m about as Mac ignorant as you can get

Good job man, I know it was both a mess and a highly desired project.

1·20 days agoThe three Recession Rugers are P89 9mm( FDE), P94 .40 ( blue), and P345 .45 ( black prototype.
The side charger on the left was done by drilling and tapping the safety with M4 threads. On that model to remove the safety you have to remove the ejector. I believe the P94 is the same but I haven’t done that one yet. The P345 safety lever comes out with the two pin safetys after removing the rear sight and set screw, and removing the pigtail spring and pin visible on the slide bottom. The pigtail holds the safety lever.
Couldn’t figure out how to add second picture to original post.

Twas a last minute thought as I had to leave for work… We can’t all hang out in Mom’s basement all day with an orange dick and an empty bag of Cheetos.
